Busy Weekend for CSC Swimmers Everywhere

On the weekend of July 2nd and 3rd CSC swimmers were competing in multiple events in multiple locations.

Many of our youngest swimmers, some of which competing for the very first time, competed at the City of Derby B Grade Open Meet. The team came away with 9 speeding tickets and 33 top 6 placings but by far the most impressive stat was the 78 PBs out of 88 swims! A great day of FAST swimming full of smiles and swimmers learning lots about racing. Well done everyone.IMG_0747

Meanwhile up at Ponds Forge swimmers from National, Junior National and Regional Squads were putting in some final preparation racing before the end of season target competitions. Skills and processes were the focus here as swimmers continue to put the finishing touches on there races. We’re excited to see what this now translates in to at the big competitions coming up.

On Sunday a small team of 6 travelled down to Bosworth for the Regional Open Water Championships. Guided by open water veteran Ray Smith, who led by example competing in the 3k, our swimmers were fantastic coming away with a number of medals and National qualifications. Both Sofia Allen and Chloe Stennett finished second in their age groups securing a place at the National Open Water Championships while Laini Cooper finished first in her age group to also progress to the next stage. Furthermore, the team of Jorge Thompson, Sofia Allen and Chloe Stennett won second in Derbyshire’s top club competition. Well done everyone!IMG_2061
